The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) is the first large scale infrastructure project to be developed jointly by the three regional governments of Guangdong Province, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Macao Special Administrative Region under the policy of “One country, Two systems”. Based on the planning of the national highway network, the Bridge, which connects Hong Kong at its east end to Zhuhai and Macao at its west end, will provide a significant part of the expressway in the Pearl River Delta regional transportation loop and is a key project crossing the Lingdingyang and connecting the east and west bank of the Pearl River. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Authority which is jointly organized by the governments of Guangdong, Hong Kong Special Administration Region and Macao Special Administration Region, carries the main responsibility for the construction, operation and maintenance and management of the main works of the HZMB.
